I have some pics of my DVD and LD collection here if anyone's interested: http://photobucket.com/albums/a222/leoknight25/

I've traded in a lot of my DVD's as of late...kinda weeding out the stuff I don't watch or haven't had a chance to watch yet. Let me know what you guys think! :D

Ok, lets see your DVD shelves.

Some basic rules:
1.) No fansubs
2.) No bootlegs, please remove these from the shelves before taking a picture of them
3.) No lists, please provide links to images or use the
tags to make them viewable, but if you do, please consider resizing them to fit at least a 800x600 screen.
4.) Try also to keep the file size small, quite a few people are on dialup, so 256KB is an appropriate size for this thread.

Any plans on replacing that bootleg collection of the Tenchi TV, OVA and movies with the real thing?

I haven't got a photo to show, but maybe I will get off my lazy arse and take one tonight. And my stuff is all over the place, in the house, on the TV rack, etc. I will gather everything together and take some pictures.

Anyway, as of today, I have over 200 anime titles in my collection. And that excludes titles whose names I'm not very sure of and did not include in my list. And also excludes animes owned by my wife (most of the Crayon Shin-chan seasons and 2 Crayon Shin-chan movies, and Candy Candy). About half are DVDs (several DVDs to a season), the rest are VCDs (the more prevalent format here anyway), usually with about 2 episodes per CD for a 12 to 13-disc full set. BTW, I also have several copies of some titles. Such as Spirited Away. Bought the VCD, loved it, and bought the DVD. Then bought another version with the extra DVD (which includes the "making of" special), so I have 3 copies of Spirited Away. And that's just one example. I won't count them as being separate additions in my list, but they are taking up space. And that will show in the pictures.

Just imagine how much I'd have to spend on shelves to hold that lot. I'd much rather save that money to spend on anime.

And just in case you're wondering. I don't rob, I don't steal. I have a full-time job that pays well. That's all. And I have a secret fund (which was originally intended to pay for mods to my car) that's almost dry now. And lastly, my wife has no idea whatsoever how big my collection is. She will divorce me if she knew.

Speaking of games, is Hourglass of summer worth getting?
Yeah if your into bishoujo games. It gets kind of boring at some parts but it has a decent story unlike other bishoujo games that have been translated into english. Also it's the best out of the AnimePlay DVD games.

I see that you own a HK DVD of Bleach an Yu-gi-oh, unless these are official R2 DVD's

Actually, the Bleach stuff off to the side are graphic novels, the Yu-Gi-Oh and Shaman King are HK however, but I bought them before the unedited DVDs were announced and I will be replacing them with the official releases...when I have the extra money of course ^_^;

I don't have any pictures handy since they're sort of in far too many different locations, but the collection titles can be found here:

http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/animeondvd

Since the page may not load for some people due to the number of titles (it's crashed me a couple of times), after adding in today's arrivals I'm now at 3309 releases. Not including "live action" porn or DVD-R's of stuff.

Do you realize you spent over $90,000 on DVD's! 8O

That is a lot of money. I can pay for a good amount of graduate and doctorate school with that kind of money! 8O

well thanks tony.....one more question then :P...say you get the collecters edition of some anime.....whats the difference from the regular next dvds as opposed to the slipcover ones. Can you put the slipcover ones with the collecters edition? Whats the best place to buy the slipcover ones..For instance...looking up X on http://dvdpricesearch.com/ i found only 5 and 6 had slipcovers....

Hmm...I'll have to swipe the digital camera and take one tommorow. I'll edit this later, but for now this will have to hold you over.

Kruszer, what is the box set next to Gundam seed and ?Noir?

I'll try to get a picture up soon...of my tiny collection...

In between them? It's my Neon Genesis Evangellion Perfect Collection (The Non-Platinum editions). My stupid light or the sun from an open window is reflecting off it, didn't notice that, though it does look pretty sweet like that for a fluke. I'll take a better one if you want or you can see what it looks like in the previous photo I posted (page 3).

Sure. I needed an excuse to take another picture of it anyway.

That's good. Buying HK DVD's are the most evil thing to do (in the world of buying DVD's)

I also intend on replacing those Fushigi Yugi DVD's with the official ones (all 3 boxes have the same barcode number, an obvious HK) Mainly the FY HK boxes are just DVD rips of Geneon's releases, just placed on fewer DVD's (one per box less)

thank you. Once I graduate and have a place of my own, I plan on having a much nicer display shelf for my anime. Depending on the other furniture, it'll either be a nice brown or black wood.
