Honestly who on this thread has cured there acne...prolly wont get no one on here that has cured there acne so maybe whatever your doing isnt really working...theres plenty of things out there to CONTROL your acne but not really cure it for good...so why is everyone still trying the same stuff over and over again if it isnt working ?...Im just really confused when it comes to that...another thing you get these people saying peopls bodies are different this and that...yes thats true..but if thats the cause then why does the same toothpaste work for someone..why does the same food work for you...so why doesnt acne meRAB work for you? maybe bc all of them are garbage..can anyone really think about when they had clear skin? I honestly cant even remmeber what i looked like or felt like...alls i know is that i had no worries and didnt even use a face wash or lotions or none of this stuff im using now...so maybe less is more..maybe you dont need all these fancy things and such....i dont know im just really mad about acne and just wish there was a cure!

I've had acne for 14 years now (I'm 27), and at the moment my skin is the best it's been since I was 12, I'm on bcp and use a gentle cleanser and benzoyl peroxide, and mineral foundation (which I think makes a big difference- sorry guys), but I've never been completely clear. I personally think it's all a big conspiracy, as I honestly can't believe that NOONE has figured out a cure for acne, but the big companies like Clearasil and Johnson&Johnson are supressing them as there is just too much money to be made from acne treatment and it's not life-threatening anyway...but yeah, after 14 years of acne it's pretty depressing.

I've had adult acne for 3 years (I'm 32), and for the last month, I haven't had any new spots, and my skin is so much better and less oily. Here's what I've been doing for the last month:

omega 3 fish oil from GNC (2 tablets daily)
saw palmetto (1 tablet daily)
GNC women's ultra mega (2 tablets daily)
the above tablets I take with a ton of water (they are big!), which I'm sure helps too
Yasmin

wash face every morning & evening with Olay Regenerist face wash
apply Neutrogena facial moisturizer with AHA & SPF 15 each morning
use Everyday Minerals some days as make up
apply nothing at night after face wash

My skin is the best its looked for months, the problem I have now is the deep red marks from old acne. I think they are fading a little, but its hard to tell. Was thinking of trying the Olay microdermabrasion? I know my skin is better - looks better, feels better, better texture, no more oiliness, no more spots - but because of the red marks it doesn't look much better to anyone else :(

In the past I've tried Duac & Differin, Yasmin, various OTC topicals and Proactive (3 -4 months of trying each thing), none of which really helped. I felt my skin needed a break, especially since I read BP ages your skin, and at my age I wanted to use products meant for older skin, and not teenage products.

My skin really does feel better now, and no new spots since I've started this regimen! Not sure which thing is making a difference, but I do love the Olay Regenerist wash.

I was about to go on Spiro but just cancelled my appt with the derm... hope I won't be making it again next month!!

Hope this helps someone else!

I have the same problem. My skin is smooth to touch, but the red marks give the appearance of pitted skin. So far everybody just says give it time to fade, but it could take a year! And it's almost imossible to cover with makeup completely. If you try the olay microdermabrasion and it works, please let me know :)

I'm with you on that and I completely understand what you mean about not being able to remeraber the way you felt/looked without acne. It's been 4 years with it now and some people on here tell about how they have it for most of their adult lives for around 20 years or more sometimes. It's really depressing.

Right now though I have found something of a miracle in Bruunhause Acne Gel. It's the only thing I've ever used that has made my skin improve day-to-day. It's the only topical treatment that penetrates the pore and eliminates the bacteria on the site so it works on-contact. It feels really good and you can feel it working down to the pore. The first time you try it it's like nothing you've ever felt. It's expensive, but online they have it for sale for about 107 bucks. It's worth it. It should last about 2 months or more.

I was reading about that stuff and was going to get some but just thought it was a scam or something..

My acne has been cured. It took roaccutane to do it but it worked, nothing else worked.

I agree that less is more. I remeraber when I was in my pre-teens and the only thing I used on my face was Im pretty sure nothing, which is exactly what Im doing now and its working better than anything else was...even the "gentlest" cleansers and moisturizers. I even think that when Im only using water my face also is not so red, I just went to the bathroom at work where I usually see myself red but this time I looked at my skin and noticed my skintone looked really nice, except cor the red marks or old zits that are going away.

I don't visit this board much anymore because I "cured" my acne. Well you really can't cure it you just manage it. I went to the derm. and was prescribed doxycycline, yasmin, Klaron (topical antibiotic), and Differin. I used them religously like he said and going on 3 years now without acne. I do get one or two pimples every once in a while like everyone else but hardly ever. I exercise 5-6 days a week and I run so I sweat alot which is good for the skin. My advice is get a good dermatologist and follow their instructions. But you have to give treatment time to work. At least 2-3 months for most acne treatments. Hope I helped! :)

It's no scam. It's just expensive as hell, but it works better than ProAciv and anything else I've ever tried so for 8 weeks at 107 bucks online that is about the same as Proactiv if you get some of the other things they have like moisturizer. With the Bruunhause Acne Gel you don't need moisturizer. It made my skin feel hydrated and normal for a change.

i also thought id visit today since its been awhile..i am 27 now and have been dealing with acne for as long as i can remeraber(early teens) the thing that helped me was diane 35, natural cleansers( spectro jel mostly) natural moisturizers and scrubs, diacnal from avene for spots and wrinkles..;) lots of water, good diet, neutrogena body scrub, jojoba oil and supplements. i have been clear for a long time...people canot believe i ever had acne they say myskin is gorgeous and glowing..i smile..if they only knew....i hope i can help someone..it was horrible to live my life with acne..good luck
