...Old gods as well? Since Christianity violently took over and denied many people their beliefs - their true beliefs - shouldn't it make amends, letting people know about Woden, Donar, Baldr, Loki, Freyja and whatnot?

The last time they found out that some of us actually worshipped those deities they came and tortured and slaughtered us in droves. It's only through the protection of Oðin and the other deities we even survive to this day. The less people know we're still about, the better!
Remember, this new, young god is attracting people with such horrific self esteem issues they have the overwhelming compulsion to eliminate those who do not agree with them. While we're far better prepared this time, we don't really want to bump heads with them again. Too many of us have friends who belong to foreign faiths and it would hurt us deeply to be betrayed by them or have to kill them to defend ourselves.
Just let most of the world think they really did wipe us out, ok?
