shoulder surgery arthroscopic how long does pain last after surgery

Hi!
I had this done in February of this year. My MRI showed I had a large tear in my rotator cuff. When the dr. got in --- he found lots of inflamed tissue and frozen shoulder. He cleaned out the tissue and shaved down the bone for better movement.

I had to go directly to physical therapy because of the frozen shoulder. BUT, my pain was very well handled with the medicine they gave me. The PT raised my pain number considerably!!!!!

I would have this surgery again in a second!!!!!!! It was such a relief to get rid of the pain!!!!!

Good luck!

Hi ---me again!!
After reading your question again, I wanted to be sure I answered it correctly.

After surgery, the first thing I remember is waking up back in my room. My shoulder was very bandaged and wrapped and in a sling. Of course, it is an out patient. I did have to use my pain meds that night. But, as far as right after surgery ---- it was a breeze!!!

alot of how things are post op really depends upon the level of damage you have that needs to be repaired of cleaned out. what exactly are your shoulder issues. i too had my rotator repair done last feb. but because of the extensive damage(one complete tear and another partial under it),it was pretty painful. they will actually start you out with some very minimal excercises like the next day? just to get that joint moving without actually invloving the muscles or tendon. every little bit helps. what were the findings on your MRI that need the surgery?
