is this per chance an MRI of your shoulder? the wordings just sound sooo familiar to what my shoulder/rotator MRI talked about. this just sounds like you DO have some type of actual bone spurring going on within that acro joint which is the main joint of that whole shoulder area, and definitely alot of inflammation too hence the bone marrow edema and the other free fliud just being there at all. have you had a consult eval with a good ortho surgeon on these findings? did this look at the actual tendons within the rotator cuff too? what was this particular MRI done for, the symptoms?
what is really strange tho as far as how a certain finding is described by the rad? if this actually is the rads wording or yours would make a huge difference here in understanding what he is seeeing. the acrominion joint? it mentions the overgrowths in kind of an odd way as being "moderate overgrowth OF(and not IN) the acrom joint"? this just sounds kind of strange to me. usually this is IN the joint and can create alot of pain and also loss of ROMs too depending upon just how bad it is. just having it state 'of' sounds strange. seeing an ortho for that eval/consult really would be a good idea. this is about the only true way of knowing what these finding mean to you when he or she can also just see your hardfilms too, ya know?
its just all that the rad reports are are kind of a "basic idea' of certain findings as the rad sees them, not always exacting, trust me there. this is where the actual specialist comes in for their interprettation of your films along with their own eval of ROMS and your symptoms too. then they take a look at all of the info gatherted to kind of best define your situation, and any options you may have to help deal with it.
just an FYI for ya here, but there are alot of people who have rotator cuff issues or other shoulder issues here who mostly post on those two top boards with the general health and the board for any health questions too? i cannot remember how that other board is actually named up there, but there ARE many people up there who could also help you with this too. this is mainly a back board area here so you wont get the best possible info here like you would up in one of those two areas. they really DO need an area just for the shoulder on these boards but have not gotten there yet. LOTS of people have posted about their shoulder problems on those two boards i mentioned above this one. there are alot of threads up in the two boards i mentioned that you can try and look up and see what might pertain to you and your situation too. just a suggestion for ya. but DO seek out an ortho for that consult/eval if you have not already done so. the bone spurs there just really need clearing and the reason for that level of inflammation found out too. i wish you luck with this. please do keep me posted. marcia
