Shoulder and arm pain is this normal?

Hi, I have shoulder neck and upper arm pain. My shoulder xray says this inferior sloping of the lateral aspect of the acromion process with apparent narrowing of the subacromial arch. In the appropriate clinical setting this can be seen with impingement. My dr said normal xray. In a lot of pain. Does this seem normal? Thanks
 
Obviously you know the clinical terms, it would be helpful for you to explain them in layman's terms.

Would what you have require surgery?

Did you injure your shoulder or wherever in the past?

Thanks for your reply. I fell out of the shower two years ago with all my weight onto that arm never got checked dont know if that has anything to do with it. Arm and shoulder pain at least a year. My family dr said normal xray. I took the terms off of the report. I am confused.
 
Have you not had any physio for it? Maybe best to be reassessed by a specialist...maybe neurologist or sports doctor.
