This may be a stupid question but im really not sure :-P
Say I use the word "currrent" when I describe my descriptions

Hope I'm making sense :-D

No. All you are stating in a cover letter is a sentence or two regarding the job you are applying for!
Something like " I am very interested in applying for this position in hopes that I can grow with the company and use my skills."
They don't care to hear about your current job, only they will see it listed in your resume.

yeah lets say you work in mc donalds you could say i am currently employed at mc donalds fast food resturaunt were my duties include...(say what your job entales)...iv been working here since...(date of employment) I would like a career change because.....(say why you want to quit) but dont complain about the job just say your looking for something more challenging or something to feed your interests.

I would to describe the job tasks you are currently performing. However, make sure you put them in a positive light. Try not to come across as if you're being negative.

The cover letter is only to introduce yourself to the prospective employer and express your interest in the job they are offering. Your resume will have reference to your present working situation. Leave any detailed discussion of your present position for the interview.

Good Luck

I always mention my current position and what it entails and i also state why i am moving on, such as limited career path seeking work closer to home.
