Should you break up with someone who went to jail?

I have a boyfriend who I loved. An we were together for a year. He beat someone up who was messing with his little sister. The kid is okay now but not then. And got sentence 8 month Its not like he went in for theft or something.
He's never layed a hand on me or a girl! I know he would never hit me.
 
Well then they deserved it, he was defending his family, his little sister...

and if you loved him, you would stick by him and wait for him... No question about it.
 
He beat someone up because he was messing with his little sister hell i'd beat someone up to he deserves to be beaten in fact when he gets out he should beat him again just in case.So he sounds pretty caring for it u should totally like date him
