should women be allowed in the military?

Is it sexist that women can't go to the front lines during war? or that when i draft occurs, women are excluded? I mean, aren't we supposed to be equal?

The military is not here to cater to feministic ideologies of “equality”. There is a mission/objective to complete and that is not to make you feel equal. Women already serve this nation proudly and have fought in situations they got stuck in; they just do not hold combat MOS.

You probably know NOTHING of what it requires to be in most combative MOS. Most women could not complete the physical standards. Majority of women that say they are equal, couldn't run a mile if their lives depended on it, yet they can match most Marines/Soldiers in combat. YEA RIGHT.

Women ARE serving in the front lines, both in Iraq and Afghanistan, simply because they are wars with no front lines.

That being said, i'm sure there are women who would perform excellently under fire and in combat. However, you also have to consider things like physical size; most women cannot run with the 50+ pounds of gear carried into combat. Likewise, women face certain medical needs that sometimes cannot be met in a combat zone.

Of course, there are other opportunities in the military. I've worked next to women who, mentally, outperform some of the men I work with.

Military? YES!

Combat? NO!

"#1 Women are naturally not as strong as men. This is a simple fact. Thus, woman are less able to defend themselves in a combat situtation.

#2 Women seem to have more trouble dealing with the emotional effects of being in a war zone. I'm not saying this to degrade women; rather, I am simply trying to point out that women are generally not well-suited to be in a war zone.

#3 Putting women and men together in close contact in a war zone seems to cause tension and problems. Although sexual harassment is certainly not a good thing, perhaps the best solution is to just keep women out of war zones."

Don't try to make a cat fight a dogfight!

Yes; and the front lines come to them anyway. Female military personnel have unexpectedly had to fight in combat in Iraq and have been killed. The nature of modern warfare would seem to indicate that that will increase.

yes! Woman and men are equal. It is so unfair because everyone just says we are equal, even though a woma has not been a president, and even when we say the words "men and woman," men are always first! Besides, woman can be just as strong as men, and they should be able to go into the military with out being made fun of!

When a woman wearing 120 pounds of combat gear can fireman's carry a 185 pound man wearing another 120 pounds of combat gear out of a firefight I'll consider it.
