Should we make political ballots "write in" instead of multiple choice?

Just to make sure voters know who they are really voting for?

Yup yup yup, the man on the bus said vote for the one next to the "D" and I get a can of Colt 45.

No, I can't spell, especially not names. And some people have sloppy hand writing.

That would be great. Force people to learn the politician they're voting for. I think a lot of people just go "DEMOCRAT ONLY" or "REPUBLICAN ONLY" without considering their position.

What about the people who can't write legibly? If you can't even get a law passed that requires people to show a picture ID when they vote you won't ever get this.

If we did that; then why have primaries at all? Why require candidates to be approved in run in each state?

I think there should be a small fee to weed out the ones that don't care.
