Should they make a cartoon based on the "Pearls Before Swine" comic?

Wow, that's a near-perfect cast list. I can picture the perfect voices coming out of the characters' mouths now.

Rat, though, I'm not too sure of, but that's mainly because I'm not familiar with Neil Patrick Harris' voice work.

Dilbert's also got a full series release a few years back. It's out of print now, but you can still find it in certain places if you look hard enough. That truly was a great show.

As for 'Pearls', it'd probably work best as a series of shorts like others have said. There's no real way to stretch out plots like the Crocs trying to eat Zebra to a full 30 minute show.

But that brings up another problem: if they make it into an animated show, won't they have to drop the poking fun of other comic strips?

That's what I'm thinking....If "Pearl" gets an animated series, they could just make fun of/references to other cartoons...

Hey,they've already made reference to Spongebob Squarepants in the comic...Pastis was trying to make Pig and Rat more "marketable" by dressing them up as Spongebob (Rat) and Patrick (Pig) and having them sing the theme song...of course,Pig's more enthusiastic about the idea....

Pig: :anime: WHO LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA?

Rat:  I...DO...NOT....CARE!!!!

Pig: :anime: ABSORBANT AND POROUS AND YELLOW IS HE!!!

Rat:  LEAVE...ME....A....LONE!!!!
