Should there be an R rated animated movie based on Conker's BFD?

You know, with all the hype of Sega opening up an animation studio and thinking about possibilities {like a tv show of Toejam and Earl for instance} It made me think of something else.

Now I know there has been alot of talk of people getting tired of CG animated movies that have animals{Although I have nothing against that} I thought of something which could work. An R rated animated movie based on Conker's Bad fur day. Now how big is the fanbase?, really big. And I know that there has been a few video game based movies that have disappointed a few people. So would u like to see an animated movie based on Conker's Bad fur day?

No, because it's only okay for a GAME to not have a plot.

Also, I know Conker is pretty much dead; I'm assuming you know too and that this is just a fantasy question. There's no real reason to use a licensed character if nobody recognizes it.

The only time such a film would have been commercially viable would have been around 2001 or 2002. Even then, you'd have to make it direct to video (like lil pimp or queer duck) so as to avoid parents who think "What do you mean its not for kids ? ".

No. Why?

That may explain why I see Conker's face on bookbags, toy shelves, and other fan-driven merchandising nationwide. And why I see Nintendo continuously developing new games around that really-big character and featuring him in games centered around the Nintendo universe like the Super Smash Brothers series and the recent Mario vs. Sonic Olympic games.

Wait...people still remember Conker?

In all seriousness, the franchise died out long ago. After the nuclear disaster that was the Xbox remake, it's doubtful Rare will ever touch the character again. Microsoft doesn't appear to be in any hurry to promote anything besides Halo, so they're certainly not going to help.

That, and even if a movie WAS made, and the animated/voice acting/everything else didn't suck right out of the gate, it would still be terrible. Why? Because Conker is not funny. Maybe for twelve year olds still into fart and boob jokes, but nobody else. They can't backpedal to the series' roots, either, because everyone will remember BFD over anything. The premise itself is simply unfunny, and no amount of revamping will fix that.

(Except for the Great Mighty Poo. That one was kinda funny.)

I did play it. And I still want it.

Seriously, did you ever play the GBC Perfect Dark? Rare sucks at making handheld games.

I don't think they should.

Conker isn't as popular as he used to be and if they made an R rated movie based on him it would fail and we would get even less adult animation.

Yeah. Now. But they haven't done anything with the character. Nintendo didn't either. Nor do they want to.

I tell you what.

We'd probably see a Bubsy the Bobcat movie before a Conker one.

No.
I've always thought of the game as Daffy's act in Show Biz Bugs-it only works once. You play it once, it's hilarious, and a blast to experience.
Then, you play it a second time. Now that you've seen everything, the "shock" humor wears off, and it's kind of boring (the ONLY thing that's still funny is the Great Mighty Poo song). It doesn't hold up that well, and the experience itself is best kept as a fond memory (I can say similar things for any video game I used to play).
I doubt a movie would be much better.

Conker's not really a big icon in the gaming world. He's only been in 2 games, neither of which were big sellers. Before you say he was in 3, remember that the third game you're thinking of was a watered down port, so that doesn't count.

Conker's Bad Fur Day was a novelty when it came out back in 2001.

Why?

Because it was so over the top with it's toilet humor and sexual innuendos. The N64 was considered the kiddie system, so seeing something like that being released for it made everyone stand up and take notice. But as has been mentioned, it wasn't a big seller. The N64 was in the twilight of it's lifetime when the game was released, and it didn't help that Majora's Mask and Banjo-Tooie had come out almost immediately before. Plus, that sort of thing isn't a novelty anymore. There are tons of games out there that hit you over the head with sex and vulgarity, so Conker isn't special.

The Xbox remake failed for other reasons. Microsoft stopped supporting the system before it came out (it was actually the last game published by Microsoft), and gamers had stopped supporting it. I only remember ever seeing two single page magazine ads in EGM for it (for comparisons sake, Oddworld: Strangers Wrath got four). Plus the humor in the game was lame and out of date. It had a whole level based on Saving Private Ryan, for crying out loud.

Conker is gone for good.

The original N64 game. It had an Xbox rerelease with updated graphics and an online multiplayer mode. Apparently considered by many to be poor in comparison to the original. I've never played the XBox version, so I don't know how true that assessment is.

If we can get him in black, tuded, striped of personality, and one-liner lovin' then sure! Otherwise I think their should be a PG-13 film done in CG like the games. I thought they actually finished the Xbox remake, guess not.
