Should there be a debate on whether a baby is a lump of cells or a human with rights?

At the end of the debate and poll if a baby is found to be a lump of cells than all welfare for children is cut. You cannot give money to a lump of cells. If the baby is found to be a human with rights than all abortions must seize immediately.
right I meant cease sorry about that. I was writing this too quickly.
So if the baby is just a lump of cells why are we giving out welfare. Lets just cut the whole damn program and save the state trillions of dollars.

Your mistaken. Quarks form subatomic particles. Electrons, protons, and neutrons form atoms. Atoms form Molecules. Molecules form cells. Cells form tissues. Tissues form organs. Organs form organ systems. Organ systems form the baby.

The baby is an extremely complicated piece of machinery which should not be murdered due to irresponsibility.

We have already had that debate - decades ago.

We have come up with a balance between people's rights to control their own bodies, and the state's interest in having a healthy populous, but it has been shaded to favor a Christian viewpoint.

One major problem is that some people want to define life so that they can control someone else's body. The answer: If you don't like abortion, don't have one.
