There has been a lot of chatter about the weight classes recently especially with the latest catch weight fight between wanderlei and franklin. Also, now that there is a guy (beast?) that is exploiting the Heavy Weight class with his size (lesnar), should they make a heavy weight and super heavey weight division?
i.e.
155 LW
170 WW
185 MW
195 HMW (heavymiddleweight)
205 LHW
230 HW
260 SHW (superheavyweight)

As of now, the two weakest divisions talent-wise in the UFC (and MMA in general) are the Middleweight and Heavyweight divisions. There aren't enough talented heavyweights to fill one weight class, let alone splitting them between two.

As the depth in the ranks of the heavyweight division gets better, I think they will have a heavyweight and super-heavyweight division. I don't think they'll ever have a 195 class (which would likely be called cruiserweight). It would cause too much chaos. Imagine Anderson Silva holding the belt at 185, 195, and challenging for the 205 belt. Boxing is a prime example of how confusing it gets with so many weight classes.

There aren't enough good heavyweights to have a 230 pound division. You would basically split a small number of good athletes in half. Can't have too many weight classes as it will dilute the talent as happened in boxing. I'd reorganize as follows:

130- WEC BW
140- WEC FW
150- LW
165- WW
180- MW
195- SMW - New Super Middleweight
210- LHW
275- HW

eventually i think they will have to make a super-heavyweight division because its getting ridiculous, you get guys coming in weighing 260 lbs, 6 foot 8 and facing some dude 6 feet 2 weighing 220

I also think that they should bring in the featherweight division soon because WEC is exploding
