Should the photographer, make up artist and hairstylist all meet up together?

I'm new to this photography things...I was wondering if the photographer, make up artist and hairstylist should all sit down together? Or should the photographer meet separately with each individual and go over all the plans, concerns and exchange possible extra ideas?

Any opinions or experiences out there?
 
No matter the situation, the photographer should always meet up with at least the model prior to shooting, just so everyone is on the same page. Any serious type of shoot, the model and photog will always meet up prior.
