Should the Iraqi Schedule be Public?

YES! Let's tell the world what we're doing over there so some defenses against our moves can be set up. And don't anyone dare say "But let's just give the public a general Idea so they feel safer". yeah right. the public always wants to know more; it'd just make matters worse

It strikes me that a flexible public schedule would be handy so that the Iraqi people can 'earn' a withdrawal. For every attack the schedule could be publically extended, and with a definite end in sight foreign fighters wouldn't be able to rely on the fiction that the US will stay indefinately.

Yes we must try to help. Even if we get ourselves killed we still attempted to help the man. THAT is valour my friend. We must help those in need even if we ourselves fail we can at least say this nation has attempted to help others and is not a nuetral nation, but one that leaRAB in the fight of good and helping others.

Sweetie???What the hell are you? What did the navy do to you?

Clearly the US doesn't occupy any of these countries.Maybe your trying to be funny or something,as usual.Anyway a 10 year old with the basics in WW2 history could explain the blinding differences between post war Germany and Iraq. And no i'm not going to tell you,you haven't earned my time.

Well if thats your actual picture of yourself in your profile...... :wow: .lol Anyways Iraq is a new type of war. Even the Military brass admit this. It's going to be a long long time before there is stability in Iraq. Ultimately it will come down to going from Iraq to Peace in the middle east. Because of the fact that suicide bombers are coming from Syria and Iran shows that more involvement is needed to make Iraq a success.

There will be significant amounts of US troops in Iraq till the insurgency is dealt with and the government stable.Since thats not going to happen anytime soon, this talk of a withdrawal schedule is ridicously premature.

I think troops will start to be withdrawn next year as the Iraqis stand up to replace them...............As we have in Germany, Japan and Korea we will problem leave a token amount of troops there for and indefinite amount of time or until the democratically elected governement asks us to leave........

We should definitely set a timetable like the left wants.........That is what the terrorists are hoping for..........

Would it be accurate to say that you're arguing good intentions trump good consequences, and that those good intentions are important because we can brag about them?

Sorry but there is no suicide bombers coming from Iran.None.Do you understand the differeences between Shia and Sunni? The majority come from Saudi Arabia, the US's ally that continously stabs America in the back. The rest is vague, lacking in detail and generally crap.

And no that is not me in my avatar. If VOR's got a thing for 17 Irish teens then so be it,i just hope he stays the hell away from me.

What does it matter whether you make a timetable public or not? Your man Rumsfeld has said that the Iraqis, not the US are the ones who will have to beat the insurgents, so the US staying or leaving will have no effect on whether the insurgency will be defeated or not.
Are you saying that Rumsfeld is wrong? Are you such a traitor that you go against the word of the Secretary of Defense? Clearly you are not patriotic.

I don't pretend to have more respect for VOR than the minimum I am morally required to due to the fact that he is a human being, but that kind of homophobic tripe is the exact kind of thing we don't need here.

Iraq Schedule? A schedule may look good for PR reasons; but it could also backfire if its being continously extend or passes without an change. What would such a schedule be based on anyway. They can leave when the job is done (and I'm sure a few thousand will hang around for a while after that).

Yes. If Iraq realizes it has a reasonable deadline to meet internal security requirements, they control their own destiny and get the job done. Without a timetable, the milling around will continue. If the administration refuses to set a deadline using the rationale of giving resistance notice and other weak excuses, they'll continue to lose credibility with the public and hasten a decline in consumer confidence.

No Im not. Im jussaying since we (the US) have so much and are so blessed we need to help those in need. Not just sit back and do nothing. We nedd to humble ourselves as an honorable country one that does not shove it's national pride in everyone's faces, but rather shows it through action.

Certainly where intervention will improve matters, it seems as though the US should intervene. However where that intervention will not improve matters, and even make things worse, then do you suppose intervention should still take place?

We are not talking about helping and maybe getting ourselves killed. We are talking abotu helping and getting ourselves killed, and the guy we are trying to help.

Im 17 and I like Irish redheaRAB so....... :xcensored (cough) Anyways Suadi Aradia ai another problem too. It all comes down to most in the middle east hate us. It's a big issue due to oil and all the economic BS involved in that region. BTW, if we are the "torches of freedom" or crusaders or whatever the heck you can say howcome most of the world bitterly dislikes us? I mean Im all for peace and everything but if invading a country to setup a democratic society is wrong since the leader is a tyarnt and murders thousanRAB, then why is eveyone against it?

I'm not going to start a pointless argument with you about my 'homophobic tripe' ,needless to say you don't have an argument since your talking righteous and over the top bs.There was nothing remotely homophobic about what I said.Obviously i dislike VOR and simply don't want him near me.Surely thats not too complicated?
