Absolutely they should stop subsidizing renewable and all other energy sources. Most renewable energy sources would not survive without government money. Let the most cost effective means of energy be the best.
As a point of direction so your project makes people understand a bit of how government works you should add how the government subsidizes other forms of energy as well. Before they drop one subsidy maybe they should consider dropping all and let free market truly take over rather than propping up big oil as they have done for so long that it then crushes any that oppose it.
