I believe in equal rights for everyone. That being said, I am in the military, and on many occasions I have to be in the same sleeping tent as other people as the same gender as me. Should I have to sleep next to someone who may be sexually attracted to me? Would you ask a female to sleep next to a male? Probably not because it might make the female feel uncomfortable because the male wants to be with her sexually. Why should I have to sleep next to a male who may want to be with me sexually?
I would like to address a number of responses that say in short, "Just because are gay does not mean we are attracted to every man".
I agree, of course not. I am a heterosexual who is not attracted to every female. Even so, would you tell a female who I am not attracted to that she should have no problem sleeping next to me? Of course you wouldn't. Even the appearance of some kind of sexual impropriety would be reason enough for her to send me into the next room or have her own shower room etc etc etc.
