Should the British royal family submit to DNA testing to clear up the

rumours once and for all? Now before you say "No, it's an invasion of their privacy" consider this: who does the throne belong to? The "Windsor" family or those of us who are subjects of the crown? Consider this: there's a case to be made that Victoria was not the Duke of Kent's biological daughter. And there's doubt that our present Queen was really George VI's daughter considering that he was impotent for his whole life because of his many health issues. Elizabeth & Margaret were conceived via A.I. and who is to say who the donor was. Then there's the question of Prince Andrew's parentage which has been widely speculated upon, not to mention Prince Harry.
So I ask again, who does the throne belong to? If the big thing is the "dynasty" and it turns our that the "dynasty" is a lie, shouldn't the "subjects" be permitted to know?
By the way, I consider my self a "monarchist".

Does it matter? Throughout the long history of the monarchy there've been so many illegitimate heirs, baby switches, mistresses, usurpations, and prostitution, You and I are probably genetically next in line to the throne.

As a practical matter, they are not criminals. Since it extremely unlikely that they would voluntarily submit to such a test, you would have to pass a law that specifically applies to them. Although many people are curious, the likelihood of actually passing such a law is almost non-existent.

Would you test everyone or only the next heir? Or would you want to test people who are receiving money from the civil list?
--------
What about the older cousins and have received money and apartments for decades. Consider the siblings:
age 73, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent
age 72, Princess Alexandra, The Honourable Lady Ogilvy
age 66, Prince Michael of Kent
Their father was a notorious sex fiend having numerous affairs with men, women, and (menge trois) throughout his young life. He died before the oldest was age 7, and their mother died 40 years ago. I suppose it is very possible that his beautiful wife got tired of her philandering homosexual husband and one of the children had a different father. They were age 16,15 and 9 when Elizabeth became The Queen. Would you really want their paternity examined after more than half a century?
