Should the Australian Army have more the 59 M1A1 Abrams tanks?

As a defense force why? Tanks are offensive weapons...why would a defense force need any more than that? The Australian military is so small do they even have enough troops to man the 59 they have?

Edit: You have 26,611 troops in your Army and one Battalion (59 tanks of M1A1s - the old stuff); At Fort Hood Texas alone we have and entired Armored Corps of 60,000 Soldiers and over 1800 M1A2 SEPs (the latest stuff)...on one base.

Ooooh..103 you don't say...

I hate selling/giving any of our military technology to other countries even allies. If we gave Australia 59 Kentucky rifles from the Revolution War era I would still be displeased. You never know when your friends will turn against you (Taliban- Stinger missles). But in this day and age it doesn't matter if you sell B-2 bombers to Cuba as long as you make a profit.

As for Australia they might as well get them. There pretty much an extension of the British Army as far as I'm concerned so we could use the help.
