Should the 10% that responded on Facebook that Obama should be killed be put in jail?

When some nut from our side said that Ann Coulter should be killed, she took it as a threat.

No, unless law enforcement can prove some kind of intent to carry out a threat that would kill the Pres.

Who thinks we should never pay taxes again ?
Am I a tax cheat by wishing to never pay taxes ? No.

it would be considered by the fbi to be threat enough to investigate, and rightly so.
facebook has been in trouble in the past for not policing their site. they should have taken the "poll" down as soon as someone saw it and reported it.

No.

I can't get my mind around the question or what kind of twisted mind would respond!

Very bad FORM!

But put in jail, No.

I will admit to not being a fan of Obama's in any-way-shape-or-form, but to advocate 'assignation'!

Obama is what he is, too bad people couldn't see through the hype during the election!

We, America, will get through his administration without blood-shed in the White House!

Calling for the death of another individual is just the tip of the iceberg in the radicalization of people.

And it's usually something raised by people who claim to support a constitutional document of rights. There are few crimes in which capital punishment is used and Obama has not committed them.

Wackadoodles.

I'd rather them medicated (under the mental health act) than incarcerated.

From the laws you've cited, it looks like the answer is pretty clear, absolutely. It's not exactly free speech anymore once you're talking about killing someone, is it?

Jailed? Probably not.
But this does border on what is and isn't free speech. To disagree with policies is one thing. To promote assassination is another. I'm not 100% clear on all the details, but jokingly clicking on a poll is different than the person who started the poll.

Yes. Freedom of speech does not extend to promoting the murder of any person, let alone the President. We did not wish that on Bush even.
