Doesn't quite fit into the mold of the Canon or Nikon "brand", maybe Sony could swing this.

My wish list might be something like this...

- Inexpensive but solid, mostly plastic construction

- Fixed lens "barrel" or "holder", no "lens mount" as such -- BUT how about with a range of user-replaceable, very-cheap-to-make single-element lenses (some glass, some plastic, varying qualities and effects) -- just unscrew a little threaded retaining ring or something, and drop in any one of a variety of single-element lenses. There could be dozens of such lenses with varying optical/artistic intentions, each costing under $10, maybe under $5.

- Some simple but clever system for producing user-adjustable vignetting [the real thing here, no software subsitutes]

- Some simple but clever system for producing user-adjustable light leaks [the real thing if possible, no software here]

- APS-C Sensor (would this be large enough for the intended purpose? could it be any smaller and still bring-off the Holga-like experience?)

- in camera software for simulating film warp, and maybe a few other artsy effects [but please keep it pretty darned simple]

- SD card slot

- no metering, manual-only exposure

- simple manual focus / no autofocus

- simple mechanical leaf-shutter, maybe 1/15 to 1/500 plus Bulb

- simple manual aperature, maybe f/5.6 to f/22

- Live-view LCD plus a bare-bones optical viewfinder

- simple hot shoe for a simple manual flash (inviting the use of old vintage flashes)

- the usual handful of discrete color-temperature settings

Could this be made for $199.00 and would there be sufficient market for it?
