Should shark fishing be illegal?

I know sharks are sometimes known to attack people, but the chances are very slim and besides most of those incidents happen by accident because the person was in the wrong place at the wrong time or maybe they confuse humans as their natural prey. Like surfers on their stomachs; to a great white he/she looks like a tasty seal. What would happen to the world's ocean's if they didn't have sharks to help keep the balance between predator and prey?

PS: Don't answer the question if it has anything to do with the movie "Jaws"
 
Sharks as are many species are on the brink of collapse due to overfishing.We better give them a break.I used to fish Saltwater for 30 years,now fish stocks are depleted severely.
 
Since the shark has few if any natural enemies to keep it in check, we are probably doing the ocean creatures a favor by hunting them?
