What about on their menus?

In general, how do you feel about nutritional information? Is it excessive and leads to obsessive behaviour? or Is it necessary only for medical purposes?

I'm looking at Moxie's menu online and I can't find a link to nutritional information

As a person who worked in the food industry for 8 years as a cook/chef, I have to say that putting nutrition info on a menu would be just silly. Do you realize how big the menus would end up being if every dish had the nutrition info?
A lot of restaurants will let you know if something has nuts or some other common food allergen, but they do that out of courtesy. They don't have to.
Anyone with half a brain knows that anytime you eat something prepared by someone else, it's most likely not the best thing for you to be eating. Especially anything that comes in a paper or foil wrapper, or a paperboard box.
As far as the younger generation goes, I think they will get the hint by the time they are in their 30s and are all on medication for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc, that maybe fast food just isn't the way to go. But also, it's up to their elders to teach them better food habits. No just by telling them to eat better, but leading by example.
In the end, you have nobody to blame but yourself. You have the ultimate control over what you put in your mouth.

I think there should be nutritional information on the menu. Subway for example loves to show off the calories in thier sub which seem really low compared to other fast foods. What they dont show is the calories in the dressings and other stuff people put on the subs.

I think it should available if a customer asks. It doesn't have to be on the menu. However, it should be noted on the menu that nutrition information is available.

I think you know what you eat, and how big of portions you eat them in. I think that they should not have to list nutritional values because it is the consumers responsibility to take care of themselves, and it is their choice if they want to eat a whole plate of fries with cheese and bacon, with a large coke and burger without veggies on the side.

I think that you shouldn’t chose people's menus for them, for the most part, they are adults, who are capable of making their own decisions.

Some places like Doggie King have nutritional info, but to keep recipes secret, restaurants will only divulge info related to allergies and other medical conditions.

Typically, restaurants only release the favorable nutritional information for marketing purposes. Health depts. are the ones allowed to compel restaurateurs to divulge ingredients when required.

I believe it is up to the consumer to research what is healthy and what is not. In the end, anything you make at home from natural ingredients is going to be healthier than any restaurant--you know that.

It's meant for medical purposes but yes you should be able to get a menu showing nutritional and allergic reactions within the foods.

Yes some people have allergies to some food and some can cause serious injuries. Also there are people who have a strict diet so yes.

Of utmost importance,if we care about gen next..........its the only food the young people eat these days
