We live in a 2bd house in a nice quiet neighborhood and we love it. Because it is a rental and we are on a very tight budget, I'm wondering how much of my own money should I put into a house that is not mine. Our landlord does not maintain the yard, it is left to the tenant to maintain. With spring/summer here, and when I'm at Lowe's, I am tempted to buy all these things to make my front & back yard more home
. What stops me? What ever I invest, I will most likely not recoup from my landlord when (if) we move out. I've read alot of comments out there about how renters bring down a neighborhood, but it's also the landlord's responsibility to maintain the home. It's not always the renters fault (sorry for the sidebar, lol). So...any suggestions? Also, is it ok to paint? One thing I would love to change...the carpet! We have that hideous multi colored brown renters carpet. So again...suggestions.
Thanks.
