Should overdrive on my 2000 Toyota Celica be on or off?

I remember reading about it in the manual. But I can't remember what it said and I can't find it! Thanks for the help!
 
overdrive is a higher gear. it gives u better gas mileage because it lowers ur rpm. i would say use it on the interstate. it's located on the gear shifter . useally on the left side. basically look for the text overdrive. it's a button so it's pretty easy to locate. hope this helps ..
 
it should be on most of the time to conserve gas.

and off when you need power to pass go up a hill stuff like that.
 
Typically -

Highway : On
City Driving: Off

Overdrive helps save fuel when traveling at highway/freeway speeds.
