Should NASCAR go ahead with its planned "Legacy Provisional" clause for the Sprint Cup

Chase? NASCAR is reported to be mulling an addendum to the Sprint Cup Chase rules allowing for a "Legacy Provisional." This clause will allow a 13th driver to be added to the chase field of 12 currently in place. The" legacy driver" would have to be the offspring of a driver who is considered "historically important" to the sport.

This provisional would be similar to the champion's provisional which allows a past champion a guaranteed start in a certain number of races. The difference is that the legacy provisional allows for the descendant of a famous driver to be admitted to the chase. It is said this will help boost marketing, TV ratings, and ticket sales for the final 10 races.

If NASCAR really wanted to boost marketing, TV ratings, and ticket sales for the final 10 races, they would get rid of the chase. Idiots.

No they just need to do away with the chase and let everyone finish where they finish.
