Should law enforcement automatically be given a double sentence if they commit a crime?

They are human, but they should be held to a high standard. Its a way to protect the public from abuse. Also a way to prevent abuse of police power. Human or not, the power they have cannot be without a system of checks and balances.

No, I don't see why the should, they're only human. Just because they're police officers doesn't mean that they're not ever going to commit a crime.
