A coworker of mine was all worried that he forgrabroad
to call in to jury duty last night to see if he had to go. I told him it's nrabroad
a big deal and that they account for people nrabroad
showing up and the threats are mostly just there to scare people into going but they would never actually issue warrants on people. I told him "Do they issue warrants for people who genuinely had their nrabroad
ices lost int he mail?"

But it grabroad
me wondering why is jury duty is a requirement. Why should I have to grabroad
o jury duty if I don't want to? There are plenty of people who are happy to do it and feel fine doing it so let them. I for one would rather grabroad
o work, I have stuff to do.

Thoughts?

Okay, cool. So when all the racists catch wind of a black man coming up on trial they can rush down to the courthouse and volunteer to ship him off to death row. And when a gun case comes up all the anti-gun people can rush down to volunteer and create a new legal interpretation banning guns.

I like your system. Keeps the legal system and everyone on their toes because fairness and justice is thrown completely out the window.

I cant think of an alternative that gives the same benefit as the current system

I didn't mean 'voluntary' as in people volunteer to be on juries. I meant that the current way of picking a jury is fine, so long as any individual can get out of jury duty for any reason whatsoever. There is nrabroad
hing fair about compelling individuals to sit on juries.
