Should I work out first? Or cook/eat first?

I would love to work out before I work in the mornings just to get it out of the way, but I have never once had good luck with getting up to work out.
So - that leaves me with working out after work in the PM.
I am usually off around 5pm. I usually go to bed around 10 or 11.
I like to cook dinner also, about 1 hour to cook, 30 min to eat/digest.

When should I work out? and when should I cook/eat? Should I work out right after work and eat late, or eat before working out? I know I need to wait about 30 min before and after eating before working out... I just don't know which is better when it come to getting close to sleep... because I know it's not good to eat before sleeping, nor working out before sleeping...
