should i wait to play the first god of war games before playing 3?

i plan to play all 3 of the god of war games on ps3 but right now i only have 3.

i was just wondering if it would ruin the trilogy the play the third one first and then 1 and 2 after (it would sort of make them prequels)

is it best to play them in order or does it not really matter?
