I'm a guy and I'm 14 years old and a freshman. I want to try out a sport at school next year when I'm a sophomore, maybe tennis, or something else if they add new sports. I sort of regret not doing a sport this year and I want to try out the next.

The thing is though, I really don't know if I should because I haven't ever actually done a sport ever really. My parents never did put me in a sport ever when I was little and I never even played one for fun either because I'm an only child and had no one to play with, I was practically a loner until 8th grade, and my parents wouldn't play with me either. So, I'm pretty skinny, but i am seriously out of shape. A reason for that is that our high school is a new one and we have only begun doing PE since January. Another is that I still don't do anything physical at all other than PE. So, I don't know if doing a sport would actually be worth it, because I don't want to just try and be told that I'm not good enough to join a team, and then just feel bad. So, if anyone has any opinions or suggestions, I would be glad to hear them. Sorry this question is long, but I just need help. Thanks.

Well, to be quite honest, it's harder than you think to make a sport in high school. If you think you have it in you to make the team, go right ahead. You never know.

If you're already a Sophomore and have never played a sport, don't embarrass yourself. The way I see it you have three options. 1) Study. You're an only child and are at home on Valentine's Day and have never played a sport and are seeking advice on yahooanswers... sounds like you're the stereotypical nerd- no offense. This seems to be your best option. Get good grades, go to a good school, make bank after college then maybe you'll get a hot wife. 2) Lift weights. You say you're skinny so it might be in your best interest to start doing some pushups to get swoll, then maybe try out a sport. Start working out on your own. 3) Smoke weed. If you're looking for some friends in high school, smoking weed is a good way to go. Everyone will like you if you smoke them out; however this will seriously damage your health and your chances of a successful life after high school, but you'll have fun while it lasts.
I think your best bet is to combine options 1 and 2. Work hard, make bank and do some pushups along the way so that you don't look like a skinny nerd and will maybe get some pussy once in a while.
