Should I take Pre AP English?

Ok this fall I will be a sophomore in High School. This year, I took Pre AP English 9 (my school doesn't offer AP until 11th and 12th grade). I would like to be a kindergarten teacher, but was wondering if taking regular English would decrease my chances of getting into college. I have As in all of my classes, but do colleges still look specifically for advanced classes? I'll be taking Pre AP Spanish II, Advanced Algebra II/Trig next year as well. Last semester I passed Pre AP English with a 96%, but this semester I'm not doing as well. I got a D and a B on my last tests, and was wondering if I should just take regular English next year instead of Pre AP. I'm worried I won't do well in Pre AP next year, and then be forced to take AP the next two years (If I do take Pre AP though, I am required to take AP Lit and Composition in 11th and 12th) Sorry this is long just wanting some info and advice. So... Would taking regular English be a good idea? Thanks
 
If you're doing bad this semester in pre AP English then I would say just take regular next semester. I think the actual AP English is more important than the "pre" one. Just make sure that when you take the real one, at least pass the AP test with a 3 or higher.
make sure to pay attention in class and study for the AP exams when you're in 11th and 12th grade!!!
