Should I take a $1000 bodily injury settlement for being hit by a car?

I got hit by a car while riding my bike. It was totally the other party's fault. My arm was in bad shape after the accident but now im not having any trouble with it. I know sometimes injury's pop up later in life.

The insurance company offered me $1000 after I asked for 10,000. Any advice on this?
 
You should receive at least what you had to pay for your medical expenses. If you missed any work or school, you should be compensated for that as well. If that is less than $1,000, than take it and be happy. If not, follow up with the claim adjuster and explain why you need more.
 
If $1000 covers your actual and expected medical bills, you ought to take it; if not, negotiate for enough more to cover them. Don't expect to get rich from this, but do expect to be fully compensated.
