Should I take 97' Ford Explorer or the 01 Mustang Convertible?

I am moving to the mountains of North Carolina for school and have the option of taking my current 2001 Ford Mustang convertible or taking my older 97' Ford Explorer.

I am not sure which to choose. Both get near the same gas mileage and really aren't the ideal cars for snow. The explorer has more space but the mustang is easier to drive and park. What do you think?

I would choose the Mustang. Mainly because my mom has one here in NC, and they are very reliable, fun to drive or ride in, and it is newer. Just be sure to get a carfax before you buy. Many people just like my mom did, get screwed over on that car that they've been looking for. Hers was wrecked at 19,582 miles in 2003,repaired and put back for sale in 2006 when we got it for a cheap $8,000. It had only 25,000 miles on it then. She couldn't believe it! Anyway, listen for any unusual knocks or sounds while test driving, make sure everything works, feel the paint for any bumps or rough spots, and get a mechanic to look at it to be extra safe. Good Luck
