so my ATT contract is going to end on august, and I'd had alot of problems with them Ie. crap coverage, weird bills, and calls not even getting to my phone. I want a HTC hero and am considering flashing one to cricket. How do you guys rate the service and nationwide coverage? Anyone in the DC/MD/VA area what do you think of the coverage? Just what to know your opinions
-thanks

thats the thing I was unsure of lol there coverage map looks pretty decent. especially in the areas I am in alot. The only reason I'm thinking of getting it is the price, I not expecting great customer support because all cell phone companies just read of a script.

Simple Mobile is a carrier that is similar to cricket, but ten times the coverage and half the price of att (not advertising :D). you can keep you nuraber and unlock your att phone to use it with simple. The coverage, I know from a friend is great in the DC area. look up "Simple Mobile" for more info

That's true. Crickets new coverage is alot better. Every since I got away from Cricket branded phones its been Cricket all day for me. Yes they have family plans and ill guarantee you'll never have a $1000 phone bill, lol

but how does it compare to actualy T-mobile? I'm thinking of using T-mobile because their plans are really cheap and flexible. and I heard good things about their customer service.

Hi Aklass,

My name is Ryan and I work in partnership with Cricket Wireless. We sure, family plans in the DC area can be found here http://www.mycricket.com/cell-phone-plans/family-plans. Be sure to enter your zip code for specific plan details.

Our new Nationwide Talk & Text Coverage allows you to use your phone without roaming costs in all 50 states (including the top 125 cities nationwide) and Puerto Rico. We still do have roaming in a small amount of areas which provides customers the ability to use their Cricket service throughout the US and Canada while outside the Nationwide Talk & Text Coverage area for an additional charge. Cricket Wireless customers can use their Flex Bucket or prepurchased roaming minutes to use Cricket service in roaming areas.

Cricket will activate any phone that's been flashed to work on the Cricket network.

Cricket corporate stores currently do not flash phones to work on the Cricket network but many of the indirect dealer (both standard and premier) have the ability to flash a customer's phone, and most corporate stores will be able to tell a customer where to go to have their phones flashed to Cricket. To find a list of store locations, click here.

If you choose to activate a non-Cricket phone on the Cricket network, there is a possibility that some of the phone features or service plan features may not operate. Additionally, flashed phones are not eligible for the Cricket Phone Replacement Program or Cricket Warranty Exchange Program. Not all phones are capable of being flashed to work on the Cricket network.

Best,
Ryan on behalf of Cricket
