yes you need to rest. Your muslces should get a weeks rest each before you work them again. so i prefer this routine for women.
monday
triceps abs
tuesday
biceps forearms
wednesday
cardio
thursday
legs abs
friday
shoulders traps
sat sun rest
also increase your calorie intake to 1500 a day as this is perfect for losing weight if you go to low your body starts to store fat instead of burn it and youll actually gain weight.

So I'm trying to lose at least 15-25 lbs before summer, I started about 7 days ago and have been exercising for about 60 mins a day. Now my abdominals, quadricepts, and shoulders feel sore and tired. Should I take a break? Or should I just ignore it and keep on going?

Extra information:
Age: 14 (almost 15)
Height: 5'3''
Weight: 138 lbs
Diet: Not many carbs, lots of fruits and veggies, and fresh no sugar smoothies
Cal per day: Less than 1,350

AND PLEASE HELP!!
How many breaks a week should I take to shed off the weight (15-25 lbs) ?
10 points for best answe please!!
btw by break i mean 1 day break
oh and i use the elliptical

First ....Congrats on taking the first step to a healthy lifestyle. Keep it up!!

Second...You're muscles absolutely need some downtime! Think about running a blender day after day after day. Eventually the motor will burn out. It needs a break just like humans!

Third....The following is a good weight loss workout routine. You should do this 3-5 times a week and run through the exercise 2x's. If you watch any popular workout dvd/programs you will notice as unique and effective as they claim to be...they are all very similar. Follow what layed out for you below and you'll start noticing results quickly. Good luck, have fun, and enjoy your new lifestyle!!

++Start by doing 5 minutes of cardio to warmup, then go through each exercise in rapid succession. Do 5 more minutes of cardio, then go through the list again for the second or third time

1. squats - w/ 5 or 8lb weights - 8-10 reps
2. Machine Lateral Pull-Down - 9-10 repetitions
3. Barbell Bench Press - 6-8 repetitions
4. Bulgarian Split Squat - 8-10 repetitions
5. One-Arm Row - 8-10 repetitions
6. Ab Crunch on a Ball - 10-12 repetitions
7. Bar Military Press - 1 set, 12 repetitions

Well I applaude you. You are 14 and already doing the work to improve yourself. As for the exercising you should only do it about 5 times a week TOPS! To much exercising will make your body to sore. If you do it 4 or 5 times a week then you should be fine and will still lose wieght. BUT dont try to slim down to the point of looking anerexic. Trust me I am 16 and if a girl is to skinny it is kinda a turn off. 15 or 25 pounds is a good number. GOOD LUCK!
