Current Motorola E815...
Love speaker independent voice dialing
Love expandable memory
Like decent Verizon reception
Like mp3
Like checking email
Enjoy flip-phone config
Enjoy camera, crummy video (better than nothing!)

Don't like size, weight
Hate disabled bluetooth
Hate tough synch'ing
Hate being tempted to reprogram phone, complications

My one year Verizon contract is up, and I was just about to order a Blackjack from Amazon ($75 after rebate), until I discovered that I can't port my business number!

So, this is a good time to throw out my wishlist:

Need:
Verizon upgrade or Cingular new service (two best receptions here)

Really want:
Small size
Speaker independent voice dialing
Easy file transfer and synch'ing
Decent mp3 player
expandable memory
Decent camera
Email capable (I use gmail, but it works ok on Verizon)

Would like:
GPS, or at least mapping
Fast internet, even better with modem capabilities

Cool to have:
Keyboard
Video, TV, XM Radio

My wife just ordered a Blackjack and my neighbor just ordered an 8125. Any others I should be looking at? Or, should I be happy with what I have?

Thanks!

Well, I don't know much about the Cingular offerings, but I can say that I have tried many different Verizon phones and none are good enough to replace the e815, in my opinion. I have not seen a Verizon phone that has had reception that was as good as the e815, and I have found that almost all others have various quirks that make just frustrate me. In my opinion the e815 is still the best overall phone that Verizon has, and I think that unless you want to switch, you are not going to find a new Verizon phone that can top the e815. good luck

Okey dokey, I've checked out a couple of new phones - the krazr looks good, I haven't had a chance to borrow my friend's Cingular to check reception, and I have a new appreciation for my e815, but...

how about the enV?

It has the voice thing, full Bluetooth file transfers, the GPS, a good camera, and a keyboard. Is it huge? Is it dependable? Can I use it as a laptop modem? My wife is getting her Blackjack in a couple of days and I can't let her pass me by.
