I've been rigorously debating to myself whether or not I should stay in Sacramento or move down to San Diego for college. I'm currently attending a community college in Sacramento and my plans are to transfer to Cal State University Sacramento for Civil Engineering. I have one more semester at the community college for completion for all GE and major transfer requirements. A big reason why I'm debating is because I've lived in Sacramento all my 21 years. I want to experience new things, meet new people and just enjoy life while still in lower 20s. Sacramento is boring...I love the diversity, but I'm simply used to it. A year ago I was planning to transfer to UCSD but changed my major to Civil rather than Structural...so if I go to San Diego, I'll be studying at San Diego State University for Civil. The biggest reason why I'm posting this is because I would like some advice. If I do stay, I'll still be living with my parents and near my whole entire family (BIG family). I'll save a lot of money this way. If I move, I'll meet a lot more people than I am meeting here in Sac. I'll live in an apartment which will be expensive since its down in SD. My parents, being Asian, aren't fans of spending tons of money especially since I could get the same degree here in Sac while saving. They tell me the "A degree is a degree, wherever you get it" So thats my dilemma right now. The transfer requirements to SD are just as the same for SacState, so I didn't really waste time taking the classes I've previously taken. So please, any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
In terms of money, my family is fairly stable but with this economy and my two older brothers who are also in college, paying for school is becoming an issue now.
