Should I send out Graduation Announcements?

My family is fairly estranged from me for both religious and personal reasons. I keep in slight contact with my parents (who are divorced) and thats about it. I also live on the opposite side of the country (I'm in MD they're in CA). My graduation is coming up (BS in Physiology and Neurobiology) and I'm not sure whether I should be sending them announcements. My mother-in-law wants me to do it to "stick it to my mother" as she puts it. I'm just not sure I should send any out. My family is religious, they don't have any contact with me because I left the religion, and I don't think they have any interest in my college (attending college is frowned upon in the religion) - besides, my mother thinks I'm a failure and probably always will. My gut tells me not to send them an announcement, but I've had people tell me its rude to exclude them. I don't want to send them out if its just going to annoy and anger people, but I don't want to be rude either. I was hoping for an opinion from some outsiders on this situation. Thanks.
