Should I send a lot of letters to someone in the Coast Guard Boot Camp?

I was dating this guy for a few weeks before he had to go off to the Coast Guard Boot camp in New Jersey. Is it good to send him a lot of letters? He's not my boyfriend so I don't know if that would be weird but I really miss him and want to write to him. Also, I wanted to send him a picture of my friend and I in our halloween costumes...would that be a bad idea? I just don't want him to get sick of reading the letters if they are too frequent. But I also want him to be a little bit happier in Boot Camp.

you don't need to write a lot, but just make sure you're giving him plenty of encouragement. basic training for the coast guard is pretty tough.

It's a great idea!!

I would warn you, however... when I was in Boot Camp, for the first two weeks, I had to do ten push-ups for every letter... Then it was ten for every CORNER on the letter... finally, it was ten for every corner and SIDE...

I was glad I only got three or four letters per week!!

But it's a great idea. Sometimes Boot Campers forget there is a real world out there, and letters remind us of what we left behind.

It wouldn't be weird at all. He's undoubtedly going to be a bit lonely and bummed out so the more mail with news of home is going to be well received. Good luck to you
