im running two alpine type r's and a kenwood kac9103 class d amp. push's 1800 watts. should i get a compacitor with it?

doesnt a compacitor keep it from killing my battery and altinator?

a cap will only work efficiently if you have the juice from the alternator to provide for the rest of your system. So in other words, this cap might just be an extra strain to your vehicle.

U are probably better off upgrading the big 3.

1. battery negative to chassis ground
2. engine block ground to chassis ground
3. alternator positive to battery positive

stock wiring is around 8awg for these, you should have at least 4 for around 1000w applications. which ur amp will be running 500 at 4 ohms, and 900 at 2 ohms.

All a capacitor does is provide a cleaner source of power.
The battery can change voltage, but putting a capacitor between your amp and your battery can give it a better, stronger 12 volts of power.
That is all it will do.

If your having troubles with your battery dieing and such, upgrade the battery.
