Hi Guys
Any legal advise would be appreciated. Basically my emplyer started a formal investigation for me using my work mobile to text my family during 3 months when all my team members were being fired, I had no boss, and felt liek I can lose my job any day. I was contacting my family to seek support for work related stress issues. There were only texts (no call) to my mum and sister. Now HR is threatening to apply disciplinary action against me. They came to my desk on Thursday at 5.30 pm, threw the invitation to Investigation meeting (which is taking place this morning) and refused to give me an extra day to prepare.
I feel this is very unfair, and in case I prepared resignation letter.
Is it worth resigning under such circumstances? Or is it exactly what they want me to do?(company is struggling financially, if they make me redundant they will have to pay me 4 months salary (my notice period). Obviously firing me is an easy way out.
What would you advise?
Thank you
