I really think it's a waste...I'm not looking for an etiquette coach on here, just want some honest opinions from people who have been married or are about to be.
I have around 150 invites (haven't ordered them yet but i plan on sending 150). My cousin got married October 09 and didn't send out RSVP, she just estimated how many would show up and had a buffet style dinner; it turned out fine.
My fiance and I have went over our guest list and included a count for potential dates/spuses, etc and we've come up with right around 100 people. We're only having 'finger foods' since our wedding is at 2pm.
One of my good friends did RSVP cards with her wedding invites last year and regrets it. She said it was a waste of stamps and that a lot of people who did RSVP saying they would come, didn't come. And several who said they wouldn't come did come. She said she'd not send them if she had to do it over.
So...regardless of it being the "right" thing to do, how important is it? Did it really help you come up with a better head count to expect? Will a lot of people think i simply left their card out or will they probably get the idea that i just didn't send them? Also, i was going to use VistaPrint but i see that they don't provide inner envelopes. Is this something common or are they just half-a s sing it?
So.. lets say I DO get the RSVP cards, do i have to also stamp them? I've gotten both in the mail (RSVP pre stamped and some that wasn't)
