Should i re wire my Subs?

ok i just bought 2 Ma 15s from my cousin for 100, with the box. the problem is when he bought them new, the place he got them from hooked them up for him, he had some kind of ohm tester, and it said its wired at 7.5 ohms, and im wondering should i re wire them a a less ohm. when he had it it was loud, and the guy at the store hooked them up like that, so im thinking its suppose to be wired like that. if i re wire them would they be louder? can someone help?
 
Yes, rewire them to a lower ohm load. Remember, the lower, the more power youll draw from the amp. 7.5ohms is way too high! Example: If you had a 1000w amp that was made to be 2ohms, if you wired them up at 7.5ohms, you would be drawing less than 250w! so try to make it down to 2ohms or 1ohm (depending on the amp) Any more questions contact me.
