Should I put a 350 engine in a 90 toyota pickup 4x4?

Ok im thinkin about trading for a 90 Toyota Pickup 4x4 but it has a 350 small block motor in it. I have been told that if I hot rod it or play around in it im liable to tare the rearend out of it. Whats my chances of this happening and should I stay away from getting it.
 
ok im guessing it doesnt have a transfer case, i cant see a chevy case fitting real well.yeah it could break, but thats half the fun with a whoopdee.you can buy narrowed rears, id suggest a ford 9 inch.if you buy from the right company it might be direct bolt in.
