Should I not use the filter on my amp / HU if I already have a crossover that...

Mids and Highs - MB quart PVI 216 + 269

yes you should still you your crossover
your passive crossovers do not compensate for equalization
for all i know your one of those guys that has the bass all they way up
on his head unit
 
Use the crossover for the component system but don't use the crossover on the head unit and amp. They will be less accurate and of a lesser quality, so you only need the crossover for the component system.
