I'm having a few issues with redecorating my living room. I currently have a 50" plasma screen TV, and it is over 120 lbs. My house had water damage about 6-8 years ago, and the entire wall was replaced where I want to mount my TV. I am debating whether to get an entire TV stand station that mounts the flat screen right onto it, but then again it shows the pole connecting it to the rest of the entertainment center. I also don't want to go through the hassle of running the wires through the wall.
I guess my question is whether I should mount it directly to the wall, or buy a TV stand with a built in mount, and simply paint the pole designed to conceal the wires/hold the TV up... of course I'd paint it the same color as my living room wall.
Would my wall even be able to support a monstrous TV such as mine? Thanks for all your help!
