Hey guys so basically here's the situation I'm going to get my degree in Elementary Education and the colleges I've chosen to apply to say I need to minor in a certain subject that is my specialty/priority of interest. I'm really debating between History and English. I love learning about History and wars and culture so I'm leaning more towards History. On the other hand I love literature and writing papers but fear that my love of English will be tarnished once I get to college. I know it's not the most important thing to know right now but I would really appreciate an unbiased opinion on both to help me make my decision. I want a minor that will be very fulfilling and help me in my career in the long run. Thanks Sam!! <333

It has been my experience that more English teachers are needed on the elementary level than social studies. If you live in an area where there is a surplus of teachers, I'd choose English. If you are in an area where teachers are in great demand, it really doesn't matter. Go with your gut. You'll be writing papers in both history and English classes, so your love for writing may get tarnished anyway.
