I have a 98 civic that I just started driving. I'm 15 and my dad gave it to me. It's a really good car with a few dings and dents. I like to keep "my trophies" and I consider this one of them, just as I did consider my first pit bike. The isn't worth more than $2000 as is, and my dad wants me to paint it and put rims on it. The thong is, the two bumper are pushed, and cracked so they can't be painted yet. It also has bad hail damage. If I'm going to put my own money onto it, I want to keep it longer than just about a year or so because he wants to get me another vehicle. Honda is a very reliable vehicle, and I am pleased with it. I wouldn't mind driving it until I can afford a better new car. I was thinking of just swapping the engine from stock d series to (performance) k series and doing a lot of work to it. I would like to work on it and keep it, or would it be better to just put a small amount of money into it and sell it later on? Please give me your thoughts and opinions on this situation.
